AS 4000 and AS
6000 Series
Quiet comfort for
full-height doorways
Fantech Air Screens are
mounted internally over entrances to reduce draft and heat loss while creating a
barrier against dust, insects and pollution. A thin "screen" of air is pushed
along the opening by fans built into the unit. Heating elements increase the
temperature of the air stream. Unheated models are available for air conditioned
climates. The Air Screens can be controlled manually or wired to thermostats
and/or door switches for automated operation.

Air Speed/Distance
The diagram to the right shows the
air speed for the AS 4000 and AS 6000 measured at different distances from
the center of the outlet gap. |

Construction
A cross-flow fan and
optional heating elements are mounted in a compact, durable frame made of
powder-coated sheet metal. Fantech's European design and technology provide the
optimum combination of low noise level, airflow with minimal turbulence and a
constant indoor air temperature.
Safety Equipment
Thermal protection is
placed in the airflow on the outlet side.An easily accessible reset button is
located behind the front panel.
Mounting
The fantech Air Screen
is designed for horizontal, fixed installation. The low height of the appliance
and the front inlet allow mounting close to the ceiling. This saves space and
allows the air screen to be used in places where there is minimal room between
the door and the ceiling. Air screens can be flush-mounted in the lower ceiling
or suspended by wires or threaded rods.
Operation
Fan speed and heat have
high and low settings and are regulated from a built-in control. For your
convenience, the control panel can be removed from the unit and installed
remotely. If installed, the optional door switch shall be wired for the fan to
go from low to high speed when the door is opened. When installed in small
spaces an optional two-stage thermostat is recommended.
